Johann is almost never seen without a smile. He's a hyper, happy-go-lucky person. He'll probably be the last person to start a fight, because it's pretty hard to tick him off. He's the kind of guy that will just ignore comments made about him, and will at most tell you to chill out when you mess with his friends.
When he has to, though, Johann will stand up for his friends, but it's very, very unlikely that he will get in a fight over something you say about him.
He's also a fairly carefree guy, and doesn't really freak out over anything... Especially his grades. He failed sophomore year and is probably going to fail Junior year as well.
When Johann plays the drums, he goes off into his own world, and if you walk up to him while he's drumming by himself and touch his shoulder or something to get his attention, you'll probably scare the crap out of him.
He's also easily pressured. It's mainly for when he gets offered drugs numerous times in front of people, when he gets embarrased for not doing it and takes whatever it is. And girls. He has a respect for girls, and they can easily get him to do something.
If you really want to get in a fight with Johann, just mess with his sister, when she visits or if she ever attends. He'll get pissed. He is extremely protective of his sister and his mother, and if you hurt them in any way, or threaten them, or anything like that, he'll turn into an almost totally different person, just for the fight, though he'll feel bad about it later, when no one's around to see him. Another way to start a fight is to remind him of his father in any way, whether it's by the way you insult him, talk to him, if you start a fight the way his father might have, or if you somehow find out about his father and try to use it against him.

Johann's mother lived in Britain all her life, but ended up marrying his father, who was from Germany. His father named him under the agreement that his mother could choose his middle name and the first name of their second child when it was born. So she gave him the middle name Edward. Truthfully, he was just happy it wasn't his first name.
His parents divorced when he was seven, and his little sister was four. His sister went with his mother, but he got landed with his father, who became angry and lonely.
Johann was physically and sexually abused until he was fourteen, when he finally ended up punching his father in the face. As a result, he ended up dragging himself out of the house to go meet his friends, who he stayed with for about two weeks before watching one of their band practices. In the middle of one of their songs, he sat down at the drums, which were just sitting there because they had no drummer, and began pounding out a simple beat. He immediately took to them and began playing them nonstop for a week before his father found him.
Later that night, he was in the hospital with a broken collarbone and numerous bruises and cuts. When his mother was allowed to see him, she asked him why he had run out in the street just because he was mad, and he looked at her funny. She thought he'd been hit by a car. He told her the story, and his father was sent to jail within the week, and he moved in with his mother and little sister, who he grew close to. They lived near where his father had, so he didn't even have to change schools, which made things easier on him.
He played drums at his friend's house whenever he could, and ended up joining the band. During his (second) sophomore year, his band went on tour. Instead of being depressed, though, he actually turned into a very happy, hyper person.
Near the end of the tour, after he and his friends had gotten into drinking, they decided to pull the traditional crashing the hotel move. He did most of it, because he's not a lightweight drinker and managed to stay awake longer than everyone else except for one guy that stayed up with him and videotaped everything he did nervously, but he was high.
He crapped off a balcony into the swimming pool below and ended up just demolishing everything in the room, including digging up a sledgehammer (he still doesn't remember where from) and smashing it through the television and leaving it there.
To avoid trouble, he was sent to America, and he now has to try to make another band, and to make an attempt in school to make his mother happy.

Johann entered the infamous Club Rush, the place for everyone to go and hang out and get drinks as minors and to basically screw themselves over even more. He hated to think it, but in the back of his mind he couldn't help but hope that his 'friends' wouldn't try to push anything on him, because he knew he wouldn't turn them down if they asked enough. Maybe he was too nice. Maybe he was just weak like that. Either way, he was just looking for a chance to hang out and relax.
As usual, a pair of drumsticks stuck out of his right front pocket at a bit of an angle so his arms wouldn't hit them as he walked, and for once they actually weren't put to use, as he chatted with friends rather animatedly. He was obviously taking part in some joke, as everyone was laughing and adding onto it, and he pretended to back away with a dumbfounded look on his face and then kicked out, but ended up loosing his balance and fell back. He wasn't sure who he fell on, but he was pretty sure it was a girl, since the person was much smaller than he was. He twisted in mid-air to try to avoid falling on him/her, and ended up landing with his legs twisted around and using his hands to take the brunt of the fall, wincing as pain wracked up into his wrists. It wouldn't last, but still.
He sat there for a minute, trying to calm down from the sudden rush, when one of his friends called out, "Way to go, kid." Everyone laughed but he popped up onto his feet, not quite noticing his drumsticks laying on the ground yet, and launched into an apology, his voice an odd mix of German, British, and American. "Oh, wow, I'm so sorry! Are you okay? I'm always falling over -- that was totally my fault." He held out his hand to the girl, it was, eyes full of obvious worry.
