"Congratulations Sir. It's a Girl!" "What?!"
Ever since Lullaby was born on the cold, snowy day of the 20th of December, she was thought as a mistake by her father, who wanted a son to hopefully succeed the family and he was certain that no woman would be able to fill his expectations. Although on the other hand, her mother was a kind and generous soul and absolutely loved Lullaby to pieces no matter what her husband said to try and persuade her to put Lullaby up for adoption. When Lullaby was born her father tried to get used to liking her and when he set her to sleep after many failed attempts by his wife, he sang a lullaby softly and gently to her and she fell straight to sleep, hence the name Lullaby, although after a while the nick-name Lolly stuck with her and she only lets very few close friends call her that.
"Excuse me Miss, I know the answer to question one."
Lullaby was thought to be a very clever child. She started school at the age of 6 and lived up to her parents expectations of her being a clever child. Although Lullaby doesn't remember much about her time at Primary school, there are a few things that stick in her memory, such as; Her very first few awards and the feelings she felt when she left her parents for longer than one to two hours. At the exact same time she felt relieved to be away from her dad and his horrible comments like "She will never be able to support our family, she can barely stand on her own two feet without falling over thin air!" This upset Lullaby as she had the greatest respect for her father.
"Im sorry Miss.Moore... There was nothing we could do..."
At the age of fourteen while Lullaby was with her Dad after school, waiting for her mom to get home after a late night at school they got a call from the hospital. Lullaby just sat and watched her Dad answer the phone and every now and again take a sharp intake of breath as if holding tears back and nodding slowly. The words of her father were slow, they sounded as if he wanted to sob non-stop forever. When Lullaby asked him what was wrong he just slapped her and said through gritted teeth: "Your mother is in hospital. She got in a car accident." Lullaby didn't know how to handle her feelings or what to say, and before she had realised her Dad had already taken her out to the car and fastened her in, and before long they were on their way to the hospital. When they arrived Lullaby's father had gone in and demanded to see his wife, kicking and screaming like a four-year-old who hadn't got its way. Eventually they were in with her mother, in the room Lullaby remembered as White, enclosed and a little too clean for comfort. The next thing she remembered was her mother clinging to her hand and slowly but surely the grip loosened until it fell beside the bed and Lullaby's whole body went numb.
"I'm sorry Mr.Moore but your daughter.... She's too much trouble!"
Since the death of her mother affected Lullaby's life so much her grades began to slip, she began hanging with the wrong crowds, getting so many detentions and barely ever turning up for classes. This obviously made her father even more angry with her and he even resorted to blaming Lullaby for the death of her mother which just made Lullaby more upset and skip more classes untill eventually she was expelled from school. Her Father put forward the idea of her going to a boarding school, so he could be rid of her and so she could be rid of him. Lullaby has her ideas set and hopes to get all of her school work on track and to get as good grades as she can.

The finishing point...
Lullaby sighed before glancing around the room slightly embarrassed. But why was she? It wasn't the first time her father had been called in to speak with the Principal of the school, but she remembered the strict words of warning he had given her last time: "Any more slip-up's Miss.Moore then your out of here, no more last chances anymore I'm afraid...." She gulped and listened to try and catch any words her father or the Principal were saying. Failing at that, Lullaby groaned and slammed her head into her hands with her elbows on her knees. Not the most comfortable way to sit for Lullaby. Especially in this uniform. After a few more long and weary minutes of waiting she heard her Dad slowly opening the door to the office and glaring at Lullaby. She shot up and straightened herself out before heaving herself up and standing a little more than arms reach from her father as they walked outside.
The Journey Home....
As they approached the car Lullaby refrained from looking at her father "So what did he say?" she asked, knowing perfectly well what was being disscussed, herself and how terrible she was at school. She watched as her Father sped up getting first to the car and unlocking it before climbing in the front seat of the old car and buckling himself in. Lullaby got in a matter of moments after her father and she had enough courage still left in her to ask her father again what the Principal had said, but she would re-word it a bit so it didn't seem like she was prying for answers. "Am I staying at this Hell hole or what Dad?" She watched her father slam his hands onto the steering wheel and shoving the key in the ignition, obviously he didn't want to discuss this with Lullaby at this moment in time. The Drive home was silent, just the way Lullaby liked it.
Home Sweet Home... Oh How I Hate It Dearly...
Lullaby knew that when her father was in this mood and he would drink. Alot. This meant that he would get violent, so she was best staying out of his way and staying in her room, hiding somewhat from the drunken rage that was her own father. Not that she wasn't used to being beaten, as a matter of fact it was getting so common that even the neighbours knew of it but Lullaby pushed that thought out of her mind and waited patiently as her father opened the door and layed a stack of leaflets on the Table next to the door. Lullaby, after making sure her Dad had gone, took the leaflets and hurried up to her room, locking the door behind her. She threw herself on the bed, sighing, she read the leaflets to herself the title read in big bold lettering: ST. Sophia Academy. As she read further into the leaflet, Lullaby realised this was the school to help her achieve her goal of becoming a Doctor and getting away from the unkind eye of her father. While reading the leaflets it hit her hard how tired she was and slowly drifted into a long, undisturbed sleep.
