overall • Kumi is what many would cosider to be a well rounded girl, just need to get past her serious side, that resulted from her martial arts training. her hard upbringing made her a sort of tough girl, someone who wont take trash from anyone. But usually the better side of her valor is her sense of descression. She will normally be sweet, and outgoing but crossing the line would be a mistake for literally anyone, mostly due to the fact that she only holds a high respect for her parents as of this moment mostly because none have tried to earn her respect.
On the other side however she has a sweet side, she's nice to anyone that hasn't given her any reason to dislike them, and will usually go out of her way to be kind to someone. Kumi will also normally avoid big social events like adance, mostly because of another large part of her personality. She is very shy, especially when she's around people that she's never seen before. However if a friend were to be introducing her it wouldn't be as bad.
Lastly she has a daring sense of bravery, to the point of not being scared even were someone to point a gun at her face, she'd be perfectly calm, of course taking in the fact of her training it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that she is not easily intimidated. She also doesn't fear many things either, mostly normal girl stuff like spiders, other ugly bugs, and most of all running out of lipstick. Due to her upbringing she isn't given to much vanity, just that sense of "I'm naked without three layers of lip gloss and eye shadow." 3+ quality paragraphs

overall • Kumi has a rather interesting history, she was born in the suburban area of Seoul, South Korea, uinlike the the richer kids she lived in the crappy part of town, there wasn't many school so often she facesd issues of not being able to wear the clothes that were in style. The only thing she had in common with those children was the early introduction of martial arts, most commonly was Teakwon-do. She took to it like a fish to water, she was very skilled, and learned excellent control over her body by the age of eight. She continued to progress in this for many years finally landing on the black belt just before her thirteenth birthday. Her father came home that same day with good news, they were to move to the United States. Being uprooted from her comunity didn't sit well with her, but with this big change there was hope. The chance for a ne life.
The rough upbringing of this girl didn't help her much other than with patience, once again she wasn't that popular, but it was better than the life she had back in her hometown. She now lived in a nice neighborhood, walkin garound in the streets was safe, and most importantly she was able to make friends. Kumi's father was able to get a job in a local club's band as a guitarist, and her mother continued working as a counselor helping people deal with their every day problems. Kumi only seemed to have one mortal enemy here, that was the popular girls, she knew that she could easily beat the snot out of any of these girls should she desire, but then her mother's wise words would come into her head telling her that it was ok if they didn't like her, what was really important is what she thought about herself.
Some days were harder than others but she kept her mind on finishing her crused homework rather than bashing someones pretty little face in. One of her biggest turning points was when she signed up for a part in a school play, she performed the solo, and got the lead part, her voice blowing the judges away... It was then that she realized what she wanted to do in life, Kumi wanted to sing.[/SIZE]

roleplay sample • It was time to face the daily nightmare for the unpopular girl at school, it was lunch time, nothing like the stench of social decay that took hold in the cafeteria, someone always being drastically humiliated by one of the "cool kids." Yumi picked up her tray and continued to an empty table. her peace was shattered when a popular girl began speaking to her... "Hey short stuff, what's happening down there? I mean I really just can't see that far bellow me." The girl remarked thinking Kumi to be an easy target. All the while the kind Korean girl did her best to remain calm. "Then maybe you should try getting glasses, and maybe you'll realize that I'm only a few inches shorter than you bitch."
This was not taken lightly by the big mouthed queen bee of the cheerleader's table. "Sorry but I've got a reputation here, something you Korean's probably know nothing about. I can't be seen in glasses."
This was the last straw Kumi put up with this girl all the time, every day. It was time to stand up and do something. Nobody ever got away with insulting her heritage... Kumi positioned her fork, then slammed her clenched fist down on it hard flinging a good sized portion of food at the girl, who in response squeeled as she saw the food flying her way landing partially on her face, and the other large portion going down her obviously dry clean only blous. She rushed off to the bathroom crying every exsasperatring high heeled step of the way. Immediatly the boys siting at the table next to the cheerleaders, jumped up in defence of their "empress."
"I kindly suggest you boys sit down before you get hurt..." She said as they charged paying little mind to her warning. she struck her hand out firmly spear handing the first boy in his stomache before arching back and sending a keep sweeping along his chest. The boy was sent to the floor spinning, and the others then backed off slowely uttering their vulgar statements under their breath as Kumi sat down again to finnish her lunch silently revelling in her victory. She'd need her peace because when she got home she'd have a long talk with her parents.
